Coker Connection

Coker University is excited to introduce new undergraduate students to Coker Connection. We want to begin to connect with you and have you connect with us, Cobra to Cobra.

Coker Connection is designed to give new students a head start on their academic experience. Students will learn about Coker’s academic requirements and programs, be introduced to a variety of campus resources, and start making connections with their Student Success Coach.

Day Student – Starting in the Fall
New students who begin at Coker in the fall semester and take classes on-campus during the day will complete Coker Connection in two parts – the Virtual Course and the Overnight Event.

The Virtual Course will introduce you to academic expectations and provide an overview of campus resources. The Overnight Event will allow you to meet incoming classmates, make connections with faculty, take a deeper dive into campus resources, and give you the opportunity to take care of any business items prior to fall check-in ensuring a smooth transition to Coker prior to check-in in August.
- Complete the virtual online course. You can access the course by logging into your Brightspace account here & selecting Virtual Coker Connection Courses. The online course will open May 8, 2023. You will receive an email with instructions on how to access the course. Please note that this course is self-paced and you do not have to complete it in one sitting. You are able to log-in and out as needed.
- Register for an overnight Coker Connection event. You have three dates to choose from and can access the registration form here. Registration will open Wednesday, March 1, 2023. The dates are:
  - Option 1: Sunday, June 25, 2023 – Monday, June 26, 2023 — Limited spots left! Register before the event fills up.
  - Option 2: Sunday, July 16, 2023 – Monday, July 17, 2023
  - Option 3: Monday, July 24, 2023 (one day)
- Students will receive a detailed schedule for the Coker Connection event they register for prior to each event via email. You can also view the detailed schedule below. Additionally, click here for the recommend Coker Connection packing list for the overnight events.
Online & Bridge Students
New students who take classes online will complete the Virtual Coker Connection course in Brightspace. The Virtual Coker Connection course will introduce you to Coker University and provide you an overview of campus resources through a series of videos, webpages, and more. You will learn about the Student Success Center, Academic Expectations, Life as a Cobra, Technology at Coker, and Campus Resources.

You can access the course by logging into your Brightspace account here & selecting Virtual Coker Connection under Courses. Please note that this course is self-paced and you do not have to complete it in one sitting. You are able to log-in and out as needed.
Day Student – Starting in the Spring
New students who start at Coker in the spring semester and take classes on-campus during the day will complete Coker Connection in two parts – the Virtual Course and Spring Online Coker Connection Event. The Virtual Course is an online course that walks you through what to expect academically and connects you to campus resources. Additionally, it will review the steps to take to get registered for classes. The Spring Online Coker Connection event allows students to meet incoming classmates, make connections with faculty, and take a deeper dive into campus resources.

Please review the following steps closely:
- Complete the online course. You can access the course by logging into your Brightspace account here & selecting “Virtual Coker Connection” under Courses. For more information, click your student type below. Please note that this course is self-paced and you do not have to complete it in one sitting. You are able to log-in and out as needed. The online course for Spring 2023 students will be available in early December.
- Register for the Spring Online Coker Connection event. More information will be available in November 2023.
